Hello parents and carers,
Following the retirement of Eileen Smith as Deputy Headteacher of our beautiful school, the governors have appointed two new Deputy Headteachers following a very rigorous recruitment process.
The two new Deputy Headteachers are already very well known to you. They are:
Mrs. Annette Birmingham (currently the Assistant Headteacher for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1)
and
Mrs. Gaynor Cleary (currently the Assistant Headteacher for Key Stage 2.)
I am really excited about the development of our Leadership Team and I feel we a excellently equipped to move the school on to the next level.
Mrs. Birmingham and Mrs. Cleary may well be know to you already for specific age groups (ie Mrs Birmingham for the younger children and Mrs Cleary for the older children) however I wish to stress (as do they) that they are BOTH Deputy Headteachers for the whole school - so the age element of their previous job description no longer applies.
It will become quite usual for parents to have a chat with either Mrs. Cleary or Mrs. Birmingham simply depending upon their availability. They will both deal with issues across the whole school.
Its always sad to lose such an esteemed Senior Leader as Mrs. Smith - and there can be no doubt that she has made a huge contribution to the school.
Nevertheless - she has helped us reach this new platform - where we momentarily take stock - and launch ourselves - once again - into the next era of our school. Mrs. Birmingham and Mrs. Cleary have already completely established themselves as outstanding and visionary leaders who will help us all work together to carry out the essential and relentless task of school improvement.
Although like many around school - I'm ready for a summer holiday - I can't wait for the new term working with the new team and embracing all the challenges and celebrations (and thank God they are many) that we see ahead!!
I would like to wish you all a most enjoyable summer holiday - full of happy experiences - and we look forward to welcoming you all back in September.
Kind regards
Joe White
