Hello parents and carers, We have been contacted by a company based in Mawdesley who offer day time activities for children during the school holiday. I don't have any background information about the company - so if you are interested I would ask parents to make your own assessments about safety and CRB type checks etc. Nevertheless, mindful that summer holidays are a time when some parents find childcare challenging - this might be a partial solution - so I have agreed to "signpost" the details. We were contacted by someone called John Wareing from the company. This is what he said: Throughout the summer holidays, Rock and River deliver a range of activity days for 8-15 year olds, during these days they participate in activities such as canoeing, climbing, high ropes, orienteering, den building, archery and more. Participation in outdoor adventurous activities, by children, is arguable more important than ever and the benefits are well documented. The scheme allows parents to drop off their children in the morning and collect them after work therefore providing an important service for the local community. We would really appreciate your help. The website of the company is: www.rockandriver.co.uk Please could I emphasise again - this isn't a recommendation from school - we're simply signposting the centre for you to make judgements about its usefulness and safety. Kind regards Joe White Headteacher
