Dear Parents, The school football teams have, so far, completed 1/2 their football league fixtures and will complete the League matches next March.
The School A Team; played 7 won 6, lost 1-goals for 32 against 5. Pts 18 (one loss to Town Green's 1st team, leaves us in 2nd place, one point behind Town Green)
The school B Team; played 7 won 3, drew 3-lost 1, goals for 21 against 5. pts 12, in 3rd place (one loss to St. Annes 1st Team-drew with Town Greens 1st Team)
The effort from all the pupils is first rate-as expected, the skill level is very high, considering the Rugby pitch we played on.
The one loss was a close match 1-2 to Town Green, we hope to reverse that result in March.
The B Team have really excelled and were unbeaten until we played each other-again a very close match 2-1. The B Team are 3rd in the league, ahead of Tarleton and Ormskirk C of E first teams.
As previously mentioned we are promoting 2 of the B Team players to the A Team for our next event, these players deserve to move up after their efforts and should strengthen our 1 st team.
This means I have to place 2 players into the B Team, this is not easy, as the players tried really hard in the League games, it is mainly that our team needs tightening up.
The next School football is The Liverpool cup at JMO Skelmersdale on 27th October-on Astro turf.
The 1st Girls event, is the Liverpool Cup at JMO on 20th October.
As yet we have not selected a Girls team-I am waiting until the last minute as the girls are improving each week-I will select the Girls team after training this Thursday.
We have Netball Tomorrow at Burscough Priory, I wish the team well, I never doubt the effort of our Pupils.
We have Year 5 and 6 Cross Country at Tarleton Academy on Wednesday 12th October, we will struggle to transport all pupils, if you can help please indicate on the reply slip-letters today.
Thanks Mr. Thomas.
