Dear Parents, The school Football team (BOYS) narrowly missed out on a place at the District cup finals-Liverpool cup, we were beaten 1-0 by St. Michael's school who will now play off against Town Green-to find the Ormskirk and District winners-who will then play the Skelmerdale winners. The event, at JMO Skelmersdale, had 10 local schools playing in 2 mini leagues. St. Annes tried really hard, winning 3 and losing 1. The boys will play football again in March, when the 2nd half of the school league fixtures take place, we are currently 2nd, 1 point behind Town Green, and the B Team are 3rd.
We shall now focus on Athletics for year 5 and 6 as well as the year 3 and 4 event and the K.S.1 event-training and trials will be after school in the coming weeks, I will invite pupils (40) from year 5 and 6 p.e. and Cross country, to try out soon. Pupils have self assessed most of their P.E. results and a trial is the only way to ensure fairness and correct mistakes on the score sheets.
The Girls football team are to play at the Liverpool Cup area final, against the Skelmersdale winners, on Tuesday November 15th, at JMO Skelmersdale. The girls qualified with a great win at the District event, winning 3 and drawing 1.-letters today! If successful, the Girls will go on to Rainhill for the Lancashire finals, and then Anfield or Liverpool Academy-well done!
Could all football kits be returned to school please! for the Girls football team. Thanks Mr Thomas.
