Dear Parents, A really big "Well done" to our year 6 girls who won yesterdays West Lancashire final, of the Liverpool cup competition.
The match was played at JMO Skelmersdale and we were up against St. Francis from Skelmersdale-both teams having won their District competitions. The match was closer than it should have been, with a lot of credit to the opposition Goalkeeper who made numerous saves. The girls played really well at times-winning 4-2, but need to defend as a team and win the ball back, rather than watch! This will come in time.
The team now go on to meet the winners from Knowsley (Huyton-Kirkby) Widnes, Wirral and Sefton(Southport/Bootle) This event should be at Rainhill High school, who are linked to Liverpool Football Foundation. I do not have details or a date for this event as yet. Top two teams from Rainhill go to Anfield/Liverpool Academy.
My thanks to all the staff who have helped the girls and the Parents who have transported and supported the teams, also the organisers from West Lancs SSP and the High school pupils who acted as officials for all matches. Can I thank the year 6 boys who have tried really hard to improve the girls skills and effort during training, they have been very supportive of the girls. Thanks Mr. Thomas.
