Year 5 and 6 Chess feedback-results.

Dear Parents, just a note to say thank you to the pupils, and Parents, who attended last nights chess competition at St. Michael's school Aughton.
The event was, as always, extremely well run and attended with approx 30 teams and over 100 pupils.
St. Anne's took 16 pupils to the event-5 were year 5's, we made up 4 teams, the event lasted almost 4 Hours.
Scoring was 2 points for an individual win, 1 for a draw. St. Anne's teams finished with scores between 16 and 22 points, for the 20 matches played.
Overall our B Team scored highest with 4th place in the event, which was won by the outstanding St. Michael's team, with 40 points, out of 40.
St. Michaels B Team came second on 27 points and Lordsgate third on 24 points.
All pupils behaved extremely well and represented the school brilliantly.
My Thanks to the organisers and Parents, as well as Mrs Walker who volunteered to help.
We shall find time for other year groups to attend chess, in school, with some help from the year 6's.
