Dear Parents and Carers
World Book Day
World Book Day takes places on Thursday 2nd March. We would like to invite the Infant children (Reception, Year One and Year Two) to dress up as their favourite book character, there are some cost effective ideas on the World Book Day Website, please see link below:
www.worldbookday.com/
We will be celebrating the day in school by changing classes and the children will be listening to the favourite story of a different teacher. This will show children different role models in terms of reading and will also give the children a taste of a different year group.
Each child will receive a ‘World Book Day’ voucher, which can be used at the book fair; therefore we will give the vouchers out at the book fair. It is one voucher per child.
Book Fair
A book fair is arriving on Wednesday 8th March; the commission we receive from the book fair will be spent on books for KS2. The book fair will be open after school on the following dates:
Thursday 9th March
Friday 10th March
Monday 13th March
Tuesday 14th March
On Friday 10th March, the book fair will be open in the afternoon for those children whose parents are not able to attend the book fair after school. If you are available to help at the any of the above sessions or during the Friday afternoon while the school children visit the fair please see Mrs Pennington in the school office.
Raffle
We will be having a raffle for some book vouchers which can be used at the book fair. More details of this will be on the newsletter this week.
We thank you for your continued support
