Dear Parents,
Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely half term break. It was great to welcome the children back to school yesterday and introduce them to our brand new topic for this term: The Farm Shop. We have been writing fruit riddles, drawing fruit in the style of the Impressionist artist Cezanne and during Science tomorrow we will be cutting up fruit to investigate their seeds. Once the fruit is cut up we are going to do a taster session as part of our Science investigation. The children will have the opportunity to taste apples, kiwi, satsumas, grapes, strawberries, mango, pomegranate, melon and plums. If your child has an allergy to any of the fruits, and you have not informed the school, please give a message to a member of the Year 2 team in the morning. We will be available on the Infant playground from 8.45.
The following day is our wonderful trip to Farmer Ted's!!! We can't wait! I just wanted to clarify that the children must wear school uniform to make them easily identifiable throughout the day. Please make sure that they have a thick coat, hat and gloves with them, as many of the activities are outdoors. They will also need to wear boots, wellies, old trainers or old shoes that you don't mind getting a little muddy!!! The children will be provided with a school packed lunch for the day out. Please do not send money in to school, as we will not have time to visit the shop. Look out for lots of photos on Twitter from our fabulous day out!
Many thanks for your continued support.
