Dear Parents, the girls played their hearts out today at Rainhill. We were placed in 3 groups of 3 teams, and played each other, with only the top school going through, to play the other 2 group winners. This was unfortunate, as we had the eventual winners in our group. Our girls played 4 matches in all and never lost one, we just needed to win a couple instead of drawing. This means we drew 1-1 with Malvern school-Huyton, who went on to defeat both the other group winners. Our Girls had no luck in front of goal, hitting the woodwork 3 times in 2 very close group games. I cannot praise the girls enough, they have all put a lot of effort and some great skill into this event, winning in Ormskirk and then Skelmersdale, and to be undefeated at the last hurdle was a great achievement. My Thanks to Mrs. Charlton and Mrs. Sanchez, for support and the travelling.
I have asked the SSP. if we can send two girls teams to the JMO Competition on Thursday 18th May-this is a Lancashire games qualifier, and means all year 6 boys and Girls, who attended football training and trials, will have represented the school this year.
Thanks Mr. Thomas.
