Dear Parents, Listed below are all events scheduled for April/May, some are rescheduled events from postponed football and cross country.
With the Easter break approaching we have 2 weeks off, though, the May fixtures will soon be upon us!
24th April-year 3/4 Tennis-Ormskirk Tennis club, We shall attend if we can identify our 4 best tennis players-we are only allowed 4 places for 120 pupils.
28th April-year 6 football league event-rescheduled- 2 teams 4th and final football event for boys/girls. This is a Friday and some schools have expressed concern about attending, therefore, this fixture may yet be moved!
24th April-Fencing begins, 1st week of 4, the sessions are open to year 4,5 and 6 pupils, Mon 1st May is a bank holiday, cost of the 4 sessions will therefore be reduced. Due to demand we usually hold 2 sessions each Monday, 3.30-4.30 and 4.30-5.30 pm, with older pupils attending 2nd session.
3rd May-year 3 and 4 Cross country event at Tarleton High school, All pupils who can complete the cross country without stopping will be invited-depending on transport. In the past we have taken over 30 pupils to this event, we will require assistance with transport.
15th May-Composite cross country relay-rescheduled, at Ormskirk High school, year 3-6, we shall select the same pupils as from the cancelled event.
18th May-Girls yr.6, 5-a-side football at JMO-Lancashire schools qualifier, we can only include 8 pupils per team, but can take 2 teams.
23rd May-Tag rugby at Ormskirk Rugby Club-this is the first mid week event (usually on a Saturday) to see if more schools will attend. We shall try to include 2 teams from year 6 and include year 5's, only if short! The year 5 pupils will be invited, as a team, to the final rugby event in July.
Mondays lunchtime rugby will include year 5's and year 6's, pupils require a kit-boots/trainers-not p.e. pumps or kit.
24th May-Year 5 Cricket, mixed, 5 boys and 5 girls, at Skelmersdale cricket club
25th May-Girls yr. 6 cricket at Burscough cricket club-we shall train during lunch and in P.E. all pupils need to bowl over-arm.
Hope this helps, and explains why we must move on from football to cricket as soon as possible, we will offer coaching and practice to all year 5 and 6 pupils before a team is selected. Thanks Mr. Thomas.
